KATHMANDU: The Department of Money Laundering Investigation (DoMLI) has issued a seven-day summons to Jayabir Deuba, the son of former Prime Minister and former Nepali Congress (NC) president Sher Bahadur Deuba.
In the summons, the DoMLI has asked Jayabir to appear before it department within seven days as investigators need to question him in connection with a money laundering probe.
A copy of the notice has also been posted at the Deuba family’s residence in Budhanilkantha.
While the Deuba couple is in Hong Kong, Jayabir’s whereabouts remain unknown.
Earlier, the DoMLI had summoned both Sher Bahadur Deuba and his wife, former foreign minister Arzu Rana Deuba.
It is not yet certain when the Deuba family will return to Nepal. Although Deuba had earlier indicated that he would return, no date has been fixed.
