Appointments made to three bodies; eight AIGs transferred

KATHMANDU: The government has made appointments in three important state bodies.

A cabinet meeting held on Thursday appointed Dharma Raj Khadka of Dhankuta as the Executive Director of the Special Structure Operation and Management Development Committee.

Similarly, Hikmat Bahadur Rawal of Kailali was appointed as the General Manager of Gorkhapatra Corporation and Devaraj Dhungana of Morang as the Executive Director of the Security Printing Centre.

These positions were created after the government brought the Ordinance on Special Provisions Regarding the Dismissal of Public Officials, 2026, to remove officials appointed to several government bodies made by the previous government.

Likewise, the cabinet decided to transfer eight Additional Inspectors General (AIGs) of Nepal Police.

According to Government Spokesperson and Minister for Youth and Sports Sashmit Pokhrel also approved the First Amendment to the Kamaiya Labour Prohibition Regulations, 2026, as well as the Education (Tenth Amendment) Regulations, 2026.

The meeting also decided to table a bill in the federal parliament related to the amendment and repeal of certain Nepal laws concerning economic matters.

In addition, the cabinet also decided to present in Parliament an agreement under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea related to the conservation and sustainable use of marine biodiversity in areas beyond national jurisdiction for ratification.

The meeting also endorsed the National Integrity Policy, 2026, and the National Advertising Policy, 2026.
