KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) on Monday bade farewell to its leader and former minister Rajendra Kharel, who passed away on Sunday evening.
NC President Gagan Kumar Thapa and other party leaders paid tribute to Kharel by draping his body with the party flag at the party’s central office in Sanepa.
Deputy President Pushpa Bhusal, General Secretary Pradeep Paudel, Joint General Secretary Udaya Rana and Treasurer Umesh Shrestha, among other leaders, paid their final respects to Kharel.
Kharel’s body was kept at the party headquarters on Monday morning to allow party leaders and cadres to pay their last tributes.
According to family members, Kharel’s final rites will be performed at the Pashupatinath cremation grounds later on Monday.
