KATHMANDU: Sur Krishna Vaidya and Manish Lal Shrestha have been elected Senior Vice President and Treasurer, respectively, of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI).
Both are from President Anjan Shrestha’s panel.
The two were elected during a meeting of the Central Executive Committee of FNCCI held on Friday. According to the FNCCI statute, the Senior Vice President and Treasurer are elected by members of the Central Executive Committee.
Vaidya defeated Ramchandra Sanghai of Tribeni Group. Shrestha received 56 votes, while Sanghai could manage only 30. Even though Hem Raj Dhakal withdrew his candidacy to support Sanghai, Vaidya prevailed in the election.
Shanghai had lost to President Shrestha in the election for the post of Senior Vice President in 2023.
