Ashika appeals PM Shah to address parliament

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmaker Ashika Tamang has said that Prime Minister Balendra Shah must appear in the House of Representatives and address the House.

In a social media post on Thursday, Tamang said the House of Representatives remained stalled for nearly two hours because the Prime Minister did not attend the session. She urged the Prime Minister to be present at least once and address the House to prevent lawmakers from facing repeated disruptions.

“The Parliament was obstructed for two hours because Prime Minister Balendra Shah did not come. I sincerely request the Prime Minister to appear in the House and address it once. How long do we lawmakers have to endure hours of obstruction?” she said.

Shah is the parliamentary party leader of the RSP.

Tamang said both the government and concerned stakeholders must take the issue seriously and put an end to the disruptions that are affecting the regular business of parliament.
