KATHMANDU: A Cabinet meeting held on Monday approved the government’s policy and program for the fiscal year 2026/27 ahead of its presentation in the federal parliament later in the day.
President Ramchandra Paudel is scheduled to present the government’s annual policy and program at a joint meeting of both houses of the Federal Parliament at 4 pm, as per Article 95 of the Constitution of Nepal, 15.
According to Government Spokesperson Sasmit Pokharel, the cabinet meeting held on Monday morning approved the policy and program.
The annual policy and program outlines the government’s priorities, plans and policy direction for the upcoming fiscal year. It also serves as the basis for the national budget, which the government is presenting on May 28.
Meanwhile, the new session of both houses of the Federal Parliament is also commencing on Monday.
