KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel has issued an ordinance related to money laundering prevention.
In a statement issued on Friday, the Office of the President said President Paudel has issued the Money Laundering Prevention (Third Amendment) Ordinance, 2026, as per Article 114 (1) of the Constitution of Nepal, 2015, on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers.
Earlier on Thursday, President Paudel had issued the Public Procurement (Second Amendment) Ordinance, 2026, and the Cooperative (First Amendment) Ordinance, 2026.
With this, the President has issued three of the six ordinances recommended by the Council of Ministers.
The remaining three—the Constitutional Council (Functions, Duties, and Powers) Amendment Ordinance, the Various Nepal Acts (Amendment) Ordinance, and the University (Amendment) Ordinance—are under the review of the Office of the President.
The government has drawn criticism for recommending that the President issue six ordinances by postponing the summer session of parliament a day after it had been called.
