KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has decided to begin its district-level conventions from April 28.

A meeting of the party’s Secretariat held on Sunday approved the working procedures for the district conventions and endorsed the timeline, according to RSP General Secretary Kabindra Burlakoti.

The meeting also decided to nominate three members to the expert group under the party’s Central Organisation Department.

“Kamal Khanal from Rupandehi, Toran BK from Surkhet, and Udaya Sapkota from Rautahat have been nominated to the expert groups,” Burlakoti said.

The party has also decided to assign responsibilities to its proportional representation (PR) lawmakers in constituencies that do not have lawmakers elected under the first-past-the-post (FPTP) system.

According to Burlakoti, the meeting also decided to appoint Central Secretariat Member and lawmaker Dipak Bohara as the chief of the party’s Diaspora Department.

Likewise, the secretariat decided to form a drafting committee to prepare procedures for the party’s upcoming general convention.

Meanwhile, the Secretariat also finalized the agenda for the upcoming Central Committee meeting. The Central Committee will hold discussions on the nomination of office-bearers in the Central Committee, drafting of general convention procedures, and amendments to the party statute.
