NC picks Bharat Bahadur Khadka for PAC chair

KATHMANDU: Bharat Bahadur Khadka of Nepali Congress (NC) has registered his nomination for the position of Chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the House of Representatives.

A meeting of the NC’s parliamentary party held earlier in the day decided to select Khadka for the position.

Khadka was elected to the House of Representatives from Doti district.

Earlier, a meeting of the parliamentary party of the ruling Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) decided to offer the position of PAC chairperson to the main opposition.

There is a tradition of awarding the leadership of the Public Accounts Committee, which ensures transparency, accountability, and efficiency in public spending, to the main opposition worldwide.
