Hierarchy of cabinet members revised

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Balendra Shah has revised the hierarchy of members of his cabinet.

According to the new hierarchy of the Council of Ministers made public by the Office of the President on Tuesday, Prime Minister Shah ranks first, followed by Minister for Finance Dr Swarnim Wagle in second place and Minister for Foreign Affairs Shishir Khanal in third.

Similarly, Minister for Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation Biraj Bhakta Shrestha is ranked fourth, while Home Minister Sudhan Gurung is fifth. Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Sunil Lamsal is sixth, and Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Sobita Gautam is seventh.

Minister for Women, Children, and Senior Citizens Sita Badi is ranked eighth.

Pratibha Rawal, who holds the portfolios of Federal Affairs and General Administration as well as Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation, is ninth, while Health and Population and Water Supply Nisha Mehta is ranked tenth.

Sashmit Pokharel, who holds Education, Science and Technology, and Youth and Sports portfolios, is in eleventh place, followed by Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Khadak Raj Paudel in twelfth.

Minister for Communications and Information Technology Dr Bikram Timilsina is thirteenth, while Gita Chaudhary, who is looking after Agriculture and Livestock, and Forests and Environment portfolios, is ranked fourteenth.

Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security Deepak Kumar Sah is in fifteenth place.
