KATHMANDU: Shram Sanskriti Party (SSP) has finalized the names of four individuals to be nominated as members of the House of Representatives under the proportional representation (PR) system.
According to a statement issued by the SSP, it has picked Purna Prasad Limbu (male) from the indigenous nationalities cluster, Ambika Devi Sangraula (female) from the Khas Arya, Radhika Ramtel (female), and Rubi Kumari Thakur (female) from the Madhesi clusters.
The party, which was formed just three months before the March 5 elections by former Dharan mayor Harka Sampang, managed to win three seats under the first-past-the-post (FPTP) system. Sampang himself was elected from Sunsari-1, while Dhruba Raj Rai from Bhojpur, and Aaren Rai from Khotang
It also received more than 3% of total valid votes under the PR system to be eligible for PR seats.
With seven seats, the party has become the fifth-largest force in the House of Representatives.
