KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) has annulled the candidacy of Kishori Sah, the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) candidate for Dhanusha-1 for the House of Representatives election scheduled for Thursday.
According to the EC, a complaint was filed against Sah during the timeline provided by the EC to file complaints against candidates, claiming that his firm remains on the blacklist of Credit Information Bureau.
The District Election Office, Dhansuha, had forwarded the complaint to the EC.
An EC source said the decision to revoke the candidacy was made on Tuesday after confirming that Sah’s firm was indeed on the CIB’s blackilst.
According to the Credit Information Bureau, Kishori, who is a promoter of Kamal Nirman Sewa, a construction company, was blacklisted in 2022.
Ram Chandra Mandal from CPN-UML, Ram Paltan Sah from Nepali Congress, Matrika Prasad Yadav from Nepali Communist Party, Dipak Karki from Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) Nepal, and Brahmadev Mahato from Janamat Party are in the race in Dhanusha-1.
