KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress has decided to unveil its manifesto for the House of Representatives elections from Madhesh Province.
The party, which had earlier planned to make the manifesto public in Kathmandu on Sunday, will now unveil the manifesto from Madhesh Province on February 18, according to party Spokesperson Devraj Chalise.
“The NC is organizing a mass gathering in Janakpur on Wednesday. The manifesto will be unveiled during the event,” he added.
Most of the political parties have already unveiled their manifestos for the upcoming elections and submitted them to the Election Commission (EC).
EC Joint Secretary Yagya Prasad Bhattarai said parties and candidates have started submitting their manifestos as per the EC’s directive.
On Sunday alone, the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Ujyalo Nepal (UNP), and Nepal Workers and Peasants Party (NWPP) made their election manifestos public.
The CPN-UML is preparing to unveil its manifesto by Thursday, according to the party’s Election Publicity Coordinator, Min Bahadur Shahi.
Other parties, including the Nepali Communist Party (NCP), Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) Nepal, and Rastriya Jana Morcha (RJM) have already released their manifestos.
The EC had directed political parties to publish and submit their manifestos by Sunday as per Section 37 of the Election Code of Conduct, 2022, and Section 57 of the Political Parties Act, 2017.
