KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli has said that criminal elements have been levelling various allegations against him.
Speaking during an interaction with voters in Gauriganj of Jhapa on Monday, Oli said criminal elements infiltrated the Gen Z protests on September 8 and 9, carried out vandalism, and then falsely accused him of ordering gunfire and killing people.
Reiterating that he never ordered security forces to open fire on anyone while serving as prime minister, Oli said criminal elements themselves created a situation in which police were forced to respond after attempts were made to set fire to the Parliament building and Singha Durbar.
He claimed that 54 people were killed after he stepped down from office.
