KATHMANDU: Former Acting President of the Nepali Congress, Purna Bahadur Khadka, has described the Election Commission’s decision to validate decisions made by the party’s 2nd Special General Convention as unfortunate.
Speaking to journalists at the Election Commission premises after the EC made the decision, Khadka said such a unilateral decision was unacceptable.
Accusing the Election Commission of taking a one-sided decision, he said efforts would be made to have the decision revoked.
Khadka further alleged that the decision was made under outside influence and added that they would fight the matter on legal, political, and constitutional fronts.
He also said the decision went against established norms and principles.
Earlier, the Election Commission had resolved the dispute within the Nepali Congress by validating the party’s special general convention and deciding to update its records accordingly.
