RSP decides to add four office-bearers

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has decided to add four office-bearers to its Central Committee.

A meeting of the party’s Central Committee held on Sunday decided to add one Vice Chairperson, one General Secretary, one Joint General Secretary, and one Joint Spokesperson.

Party Spokesperson Manish Jha said the decision to increase the number of office-bearers was made to implement agreements reached earlier in the party unification and expansion process. The RSP will now amend its statute accordingly, he added.

RSP currently has two vice chairpersons, DP Aryal and Dr Swarnim Wagle, even though the party statute requires the party to have three vice chairpersons, including a woman, as per the party statute.

The party earlier agreed to make Kulman Ghising its vice president while signing a unification agreement with Ujyalo Nepal Party.

Once the party statute is amended to incorporate his provision, the RSP will have four vice chairpersons, two general secretaries, four joint general secretaries, including a woman, and three joint spokespersons (from different genders).
