KATHMANDU: The government has expressed its sincere gratitude to the State of Qatar for granting ‘Amiri Amnesty’ to 13 Nepali inmates.
Issuing a statement on Thursday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the amnesty was granted on the occasion of Qatar’s National Day and International Human Rights Day.
“The ministry highly values the kind gesture of pardon granted as the manifestation of deepening friendship and cordiality in the existing bilateral relations between Nepal and the State of Qatar,” the ministry said in the statement.
Earlier in March, Qatar granted amnesty to 18 Nepali inmates on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan and Eid.
