Man shot dead in Sunsari

ITAHARI: A man was killed when an unidentified attacker opened fire on him in Koshi Rural Municipality of Sunsari on Wednesday night.

According to the District Police Office, Sunsari, the deceased has been identified as Bijay Sah (45).

The incident occurred near the Armed Police Force Border Outpost in Laukahi. Police have recovered two empty bullet shells from the crime scene.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Chandra Bahadur Khadka of the District Police Office, Sunsari, said an investigation is underway to identify the assailant.

After the incident, locals staged protests demanding an impartial investigation, action against those responsible, and compensation for the victim’s family. Police said discussions are currently underway between the victim’s family and the administration.

A detailed investigation into the incident is underway, according to Sunsari police.
