NC finalizes closed list of PR candidates

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) has approved a closed list of 110 proportional representation (PR) candidates for the upcoming House of Representatives election.

Party spokesperson Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat said the party’s Central Work Execution Committee meeting held in Sanepa on Monday approved the closed list of 110 PR candidates. “While selecting the names, the party has given priority to those who had not previously received opportunities,” Mahat told journalists after the meeeting.

He added that the proportional list was prepared on an inclusive basis, taking into account youth as well as individuals who have made long-standing contributions to the party.

Mahat also said that those who had been included under the proportional system in the past were not placed on the proportional list this time.
