KATHMANDU: An elderly woman from Punarbas Municipality–6 of Kanchanpur has died in a tiger attack in neighboring India.
According to an RSS report, a tiger attacked the victim—Suna Niraula (70)—while she was collecting fodder in the forest of Dudhwa National Park across the border in India.
“We have received information that the tiger killed the elderly woman about two and a half kilometers inside the Indian border,” Inspector Lokendra Karki of the Area Police Office, Tribhuvanbasti, told RSS. “Locals have reported that the victim had gone into the forest in neighboring India to collect firewood and fodder on Saturday.”
Since the incident occurred in Indian territory, all necessary legal procedures will be carried out by the Indian authorities, police said.
