NC pardons leaders, cadres under disciplinary action Nepali Congress Central Party Office

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) has decided to pardon party leaders and cadres who were subjected to disciplinary action for involvement in anti-party activities.

A meeting of the Central Work Execution Committee held on Saturday decided to pardon the remaining disciplinary period for party leaders and cadres who had been punished for anti-party activities during the 2022 local body and general elections.

According to party Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Poudel, the meeting decided to waive the remaining term of disciplinary action imposed on members penalized for working against the party in previous elections.

The party also extended an invitation to former members who had left the party or worked for other parties to return and rejoin as active members. Likewise, the NC called on individuals working in intellectual and professional fields, as well as professionals with democratic values, to take on active roles within the party.

Poudel said the party has decided to move forward by engaging in special dialogue and cooperation with these sectors in the current context.

The meeting also decided to direct party committees at all levels to implement the decisions.

Earlier in July, the party had taken disciplinary action against several leaders and cadres for allegedly working against the party’s official candidates during the 2022 general elections. Those penalized included former provincial ministers, provincial committee general secretaries, district presidents, and general convention members.
