KATHMANDU: The CPN (Maoist) has said that it would stage street protests demanding formation of an all-party government led by political parties.
Addressing the party’s Central Committee meeting in Kathmandu on Thursday, CPN (Maoist) General Secretary Netra Bikram Chand said the current government has failed to reflect the sentiments of Generation Z. He said the party would take to the streets with Gen Z youths to press for an all-party government under political party leadership.
He also said a memorandum with a 10-day ultimatum has been submitted to the President, demanding the dissolution of the current government and the formation of an all-party government.
Biplav said the party’s demands include amending the constitution by applying the doctrine of necessity, restructuring the state under a socialist federal model, and investigating all incidents related to the Gen Z movement.
