KATHMANDU: The cabinet on Thursday endorsed the 10-point agreement reached between the government and representatives of the Gen Z Movement on Wednesday.
Government Spokesperson and Minister for Communication and Information Technology Jagdish Kharel said the cabinet approved the agreement and decided to publish it in the Nepal Gazette.
Once the agreement is published in the Gazette, the concerned ministries will be instructed to proceed with the necessary procedures accordingly, he added.
The government has agreed to form a Constitutional Amendment Recommendation Commission in consultation with the leadership of the Gen Z Movement. The commission will identify, study, and analyse issues related to constitutional, legal, and institutional reforms that reflect the collective sentiments and aspirations of the Nepali people, and will prepare a report with recommendations for progressive changes.
As per the agreement, the commission will include independent experts, representatives from Gen Z and the youth generation, as well as other relevant stakeholder groups.
