KATHMANDU: The government has decided to appoint Defence Secretary Suman Raj Aryal as the Chief Secretary.
A cabinet meeeting held on Monday decided to appoint Aryal to the highest position in the Nepali civil service, according to Minister for Education, Science and Technology Mahabir Pun.
The incumbent Chief Secretary, EK Narayan Aryal, is retiring on Wednesday on age grounds.
Aryal will assume the office of the Chief Secretary after Aryal’s retirement.
