KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli has said that he cannot remain silent as attacks continue on Nepal’s democratic constitution.
Writing a post on his Facebook page on Friday, he said that the country’s sovereign existence is under threat and called for unity to defend it. “We must all move forward with one heart, one voice, and one purpose — to safeguard national unity, dignity, and democracy,” Oli wrote. “I therefore sincerely call upon all the leaders and cadres who once helped build and strengthen the CPN-UML to come together again.”
Oli also urged those who had left the party to return and contribute to building a decisive national force. “Wherever you are, come back — return to your own home. This home was built with your sweat and blood,” he said. “Let us once again march shoulder to shoulder — to protect the nation’s sovereignty, defend democracy, and rekindle the light of happiness, prosperity, and hope in people’s lives.”
The former Prime Minister also claimed that the UML has always been at the forefront of the struggle to dispel the darkness of authoritarianism and spread the light of democracy.
