KATHMANDU: Floods in the Nampa and Tinkar streams, triggered by heavy rainfall, have swept away three wooden bridges in the northern reaches of Byas Rural Municipality of Darchula.

According to the Armed Police Force (APF) Nepal, the floods not only destroyed the bridges linking Changru and Tinkar but also washed away sections of foot trails used for travel in the area. Floods also swept drinking water supply pipes, according to DSP Shailendra Thapa, the spokesperson for the APF.

A team from APF Nepal No. 50 Battalion in Changru has been deployed in the area.

DSP Thapa said that communication lines in the area are also down.
