KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that ‘connectivity’ is justice for landlocked countries.

Speaking at a side event titled “Promoting Regional Security and Cooperation through Enhanced Trade and Transport Connectivity” during the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs) in Avaza, Turkmenistan, on Tuesday, Oli said landlocked nations are separated not by choice, but by compulsion.

“The key lies with coastal countries—it is their duty to open connectivity corridors,” he said. “This is not a favor. Let us transform barriers into innovation and turn them into engines of shared prosperity.”

Oli also held a meeting with Adylbek Kasymaliev, Chairperson of the Council of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, on the sidelines of the conference.

During the meeting, the two leaders discussed various aspects of bilateral relations and matters of mutual interest.

Prime Minister Oli was accompanied by Chief Advisor Bishnu Prasad Rimal, Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai and other officials in the meeting.
