KATHMANDU: Nagarik Unmukti Party Chairperson Ranjita Shrestha has claimed that the decisions made by the party’s national gatherings are not valid.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting of the Committee on Agriculture, Cooperatives and Natural Resources of the House of Representatives on Thursday, Shrestha said the decision made by the national gathering will not be valid as only the chairperson can convene such gatherings as per the party statute. “Therefore, decisions made by the gathering without my approval are illegitimate,” she claimed.
“I am the chairperson, and I didn’t call that gathering,” Shrestha said. “Therefore, I am still the chairperson of the Nagarik Unmukti Party.”
She also said she was not aware of any disputes within the party.
