KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has assured that there will be no lapses in advancing the transitional justice process.
Speaking at a meeting of top leaders from the three major parties held at the Office of the Prime Minister on Friday, Oli expressed concern over the prolonged delay in moving the transitional justice agenda forward. He, however, added that the process would now proceed carefully, ensuring there are no shortcomings at any level.
According to the Prime Minister’s Special Advisor Agni Kharel, the meeting included a brief update on the work already initiated by the transitional justice mechanisms, which have now been established. Discussions also covered matters such as office management.
Kharel said the government is ready to facilitate the work of the transitional justice commissions, while political parties will coordinate appropriately, and the commissions themselves will carry out the remaining responsibilities.
Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and CPN (Maoist Center) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal were present in the meeting.
