KATHMANDU: CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairperson Madhav Kumar Nepal has denied any wrongdoing in the Patanjali land scam case.
Talking to reporters in Rautahat after the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) filed a corruption case against him at the Special Court on Thursday, Nepal claimed that he neither took a single rupee nor engaged in corruption.
“I had no idea what arrangements others made. I never imagined such things could happen in an institution like Patanjali,” he said. “I have done nothing inappropriate, nor have I encouraged any such actions. I say this with full confidence.”
Nepal stated he stands against any actions that go against the national interest. Referring to the charges lodged against him, Nepal said he never gave instructions to any minister.
“I did not issue any direction to any minister. Let them present proof if they have it,” Nepal said. “I have never pressured, let alone instructed, any minister to do anything improper.”
