ITAHARI: Continuous rainfall has obstructed the Koshi Highway, disrupting vehicular movement at two locations in Dhankuta.
According to the District Police Office, Dhankuta, floods and landslides triggered by the heavy rain have blocked the highway at two points in Sangurigadhi Rural Municipality-6 of Dhankuta.
A sudden flood in the Leuti River near Fedi washed away approximately 100 meters of the road early Saturday morning, halting vehicle movement in both directions.
Similarly, a landslide near Namaste Waterfall caused another section of the Koshi Highway to be completely blocked.
Rescue teams have already been deployed to both locations, according to Dhankuta police.
