Prohibitory order enforced in Narayanhiti Palace Museum area

KATHMANDU: The District Administration Office (DAO), Kathmandu, has issued a prohibitory order in the Narayanhiti Palace Museum area.

According to a notice issued by Chief District Officer Rishi Ram Tiwari on Friday, the order will be in effect from Saturday until July 8.

The restricted zone extends from Keshar Mahal Chowk to the Jai Nepal intersection via the southern gate of the Narayanhiti Palace Museum, and from the Mahendra Statue to the museum’s southern gate.

The order prohibits gatherings of more than five people for activities such as hunger strikes, sit-ins, encirclements, processions, demonstrations, or public assemblies during this period.

The local administration issued the order following reports that pro-monarchy groups were planning to stage a protest in front of the museum on Saturday.
