ITAHARI: Two people died after a tractor hit the motorcycle they were riding in Sunsari district on Monday.
According to the District Police Office, Sunsari, the accident occurred at Phoolchowk in Bhokraha Narsingh Rural Municipality-3.
The deceased have been identified as Sarfaraz Ansari (20) of Inaruwa Municipality-10 and Mahjit Ansari (21) of Harinagar Rural Municipality-1. Both succumbed to their injuries while undergoing treatment at Saptakoshi Neuro Hospital, police said. Saheb Ansari of Jalpapur in Inaruwa-10 was injured in the incident.
Police have arrested the tractor driver, Subdiram Chamar (46) of Bhokraha Narsingh-3, for investigation.
Locals briefly halted vehicular movement on the East-West Highway, demanding action against the guilty. They were quickly dispersed by the police.
