KATHMANDU: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has lowered the prices of key petroleum products.
The state-owned petroleum monopolist reduced the price of petrol by Re 1, and diesel and kerosene by Rs 3 each.
With the fresh revision, petrol will cost Rs 157 per liter in Kathmandu and major urban centers, while diesel and kerosene will retail at Rs 142 per liter.
The new prices will come into effect from Thursday midnight.
NOC said a meeting of its board of directors held earlier in the day decided to reduce the prices in line with the new price rates received from Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) – its sole supplier.
NOC has kept the prices of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and aviation turbine fuel unchanged.
