KATHMANDU: CPN (Maoist Center) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal has directed his party’s lawmakers to play an effective role in the swift passage of the Federal Service Bill and the School Education Bill.
Speaking at a meeting of the Maoist Center’s parliamentary party in Singha Durbar on Thursday, Dahal instructed the lawmakers to take initiatives to address the issues of teachers and employees and ensure the immediate passage of these important legislations.
Maoist Center Chief Whip Hitraj Pandey said that the meeting decided to hold discussions with other political parties to address the demands of teachers who have been protesting for a long time, especially since the government has not shown adequate concern for their demands.
School teachers have been demonstrating in Kathmandu for the past three weeks, demanding immediate passage of the School Education Bill.
