
KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index continued its losing run into four straight sessions, closing trading 14.88 points lower at 2,682.15 on Wednesday.
Unit prices of 182 scrips declined during the session, while 54 went up and seven remained unchanged. Himalayan Reinsurance Ltd recorded the highest turnover of the session with Rs 296.73 million worth of shares traded. Next were NRN Infrastructure and Development and Nepal Reinsurance Company Ltd with turnovers of Rs 234.61 million and Rs 171.81 million, respectively.
Three trading groups posted nominal gains on Wednesday, while 10 ended the session in the red. The biggest loss came from the Finance sub-index, which was down by 1.53%. Next were Life Insurance and Hydropower sub-indices, which were down by 1.48% and 0.67%, respectively.
Total turnover improved slightly to Rs 5.14 billion on Wednesday, with 9.58 million units of shares traded through 54,622 transactions.
