ITAHARI: Police have arrested six individuals carrying 120 kilograms of marijuana from Sangurigadhi Rural Municipality-9 in Dhankuta.
According to SSP Bhim Bahadur Dahal, the spokesperson for the Koshi Province Police Office, Biratnagar, a police team from the Area Police Office, Bhedetar, acting a on a tip-off, conducted a sudden check on a dirt road in Sangurigadhi-9 and made the arrests. “Police had to fire a warning shot in the air after the youths started attacking police,” Dahal said.
Police also impounded five motorcycles from them.
The arrested youths have been identified as Nakul Rai (34) and Om Prakash Rai of Sahidbhumi Rural Municipality-1, and Mangal Kumar Rai (28), Bishan Rai (29), Tham Bahadur Rai (26) and Suman Rai (21) of Sangurigadhi-8 of Dhankuta.
District Police Office, Dhankuta, is conducting the necessary investigations in the case, according to Dahal.
