KATHMANDU: Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Arzu Rana Deuba met with Belgian Foreign Minister Bernard Quintin in Brussels on Friday.

During the meeting, Deuba sought Belgium’s support for Nepal’s smooth and sustainable graduation from the LDC category.

“I called for Belgium’s support towards making Nepal’s graduation from the LDC category smooth, sustainable and irreversible,” Deuba wrote in a social media post.

The two finance ministers also discussed ways to scale up economic engagements between Belgium and Nepal, including through investments in priority sectors.
The meeting marked the conclusion of Deuba official engagements in Brussels.

Rana embarked on a 13-day Europe visit on December 7, leading the Nepali delegation to the International Court of Justice (ICJ).

She is also scheduled to visit Germany to attend the Equal Rights Coalition Conference in Berlin on December 17-18, at the invitation of German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock. She will also hold high-level meetings with officials from Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, and the European Union, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
