Chitralekha Yadav appointed envoy to Australia

KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel has appointed Chitralekha Yadav as Nepal’s ambassador to Australia.

President Paudel appointed Yadav to the position on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers as per Article 282 (1) of the Constitution of Nepal, according to a statement issued by the Office of the President.

The cabinet recommended Yadav as Nepal’s ambassador to Australia on September 9. The Parliamentary Hearing Committee endorsed her recommendation on October 2.

Yadav is a central working committee member and a former treasurer of the Nepali former and a former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and a former Treasurer of the Nepali Congress.
