KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index snapped a three-day losing streak, gaining 27.41 points to close at 2,645.36 on Monday.
Unit prices of 213 scrips advanced, while 28 declined and two remained unchanged. Nepal Finance Ltd logged the highest turnover at Rs 337.98 million, followed by Samriddhi Finance and Life Insurance Corporation (Nepal) Ltd with turnovers of Rs 247.67 million and Rs 198.31 million, respectively.
All trading groups posted gains on Monday. The biggest gain came from the Finance sub-index, up 3.46%, followed by Life Insurance and Hydropower sub-indices, which gained 1.84% and 1.58%, respectively.
Securities worth Rs 5.34 billion were traded on the bourse through 58,552 transactions on Monday.
