KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index posted a loss of 20.41 points and closed trading at 2,645.39 points on Wednesday.
The market returned to its losing trend on the day, although the benchmark index had snapped a two-day losing run on Tuesday.
Share prices of 155 companies declined during the session, while 76 advanced, and 13 remained unchanged. ICFC Finance Ltd logged the highest turnover of the session, with Rs 434.44 million worth of shares traded. Next were Kumari Bank Ltd and Sahas Urja Ltd, with turnovers of Rs 269.76 million and Rs 261.73 million, respectively.
Only two trading groups posted gains, while eleven others ended the session in the red. The Finance sub-index was up by 2.32%, while the Banking sub-index fell by 1.7%.
Securities worth Rs 6.27 billion were traded on the bourse through 65,091 transactions on Wednesday.
