KATHMANDU: The Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu organized a program on Sunday to brief Nepali officials and stakeholders on the key decisions of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee Meeting of the Communist Party of China.
Speaking on the occasion, National Assembly Vice Chairperson Bimala Ghimire reaffirmed Nepal’s commitment to the One China policy and praised China’s support in disaster relief and rehabilitation efforts. She also said China’s successful poverty elimination program can become an exemplary model for other nations.
Chinese Ambassador Chen Song emphasized the growing ties between Nepal and China’s Qinghai province, citing recent cultural and sports exchanges, including friendship football matches and delegation visits. He announced plans for Nepal promotion events in China in 2025 and continued cultural celebrations.
Chen Gang, Secretary of the CPC Qinghai Province Committee, briefed the participants about the 3rd Plenary Meeting and outlined China’s five-pronged modernization approach focusing on common prosperity, large population development, material and cultural-ethnic advancement, human-nature harmony, and peaceful development.
He highlighted Qinghai’s commitment to environmental sustainability through green energy initiatives, including photovoltaic solar projects and inter-provincial clean energy exports.
The event also featured a photo exhibition showcasing Qinghai province, further strengthening cultural understanding between the two nations.
