ITAHARI: Police have arrested 17 individuals, including a fake doctor, from Transport Management Offices in Itahari.
The arrests were made at Transport Management Office (Motor Vehicle) and Transport Management Office (Driving License) on Wednesday.
Assistant Chief District Officer of Sunsari, Bedraj Phuyal, said a fake doctor and middlemen were taken into control on charges of harassing service seekers.
According to a statement issued by the District Administration Office, Sunsari, the arrests were made based on complaints of the middlemen harassing service-seekers and other unlawful activities at transport management offices.
DSP Tek Bahadur Karki said the 17 individuals are in the custody of the Area Police Office, Itahari. “Further investigation into the case is underway,” he added.
