LUMBINI: Nepali Congress (NC) Whip in the Lumbini Province Assembly, Nima Giri, has resigned from her position.
She tendered her resignation to Dilli Chaudhary, NC parliamentary party leader in the province assembly, on Monday.
Giri confirmed to Himal Press over the phone that she has submitted her resignation. “As a whip, I was not allowed to perform responsibility as per the party statute,” she said. “I felt interference of the party in the duties, jurisdiction and decision-making process of the whip.”
Hailing from Pyuthan district, Giri was elected to the Lumbini Province Assembly through a proportional representation system.
