E-rickshaw driver stabs cyclist to death after minor dispute

ITAHARI: Police have arrested a 33-year-old man for an investigation into the murder of a youth in Itahari Sub-metropolitan City-7.

According to police, Umesh Chaudhary (33) has been arrested on the charge of stabbing Bhim Ram Kumar Pandit (28) of Itahari-7, with a khukuri knife. Pandit died on the spot.

Police say the incident occurred after a minor dispute erupted between Chaudhary, the driver of an e-rickshaw with registration number Ba 1 Ha 035, and Pandit, a cyclist, following a collision between their vehicles in Itahari Sub-metropolitan City. During the altercation, Chaudhary stabbed Pandit multiple times in various parts of his body with a khukuri.

Further investigation into the case is underway, according to the police.
