KATHMANDU: The government has decided to replace the province chiefs in Madhesh, Gandaki, and Sudurpashchim provinces.
A cabinet meeting held on Monday decided to recommend President Ram Chandra Poudel to appoint Sumitra Bhandari of Jhapa as the province chief in Madhesh. Likewise, it has recommended Dilliraj Bhatta of Doti and Nazir Miyan of Arghakhanchi for appointment as province chiefs of Gandaki and Sudurpashchim provinces respectively.
While Bhandari is active in the women’s wing of CPN-UML, Bhatta, and Miyan are central advisers to the CPN-UML.
The government has decided to relieve Prithvi Man Singh, Hari Shankar Mishra and Devraj Joshi of their duties as province chiefs of Gandaki, Madhesh, and Sudurpashchim provinces, respectively. The three were appointed on the quota of the Nepali Congress.
