KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has formally decided against joining the ruling alliance.
A meeting of the party’s central work performance meeting held in Kathmandu on March 9-11 took a decision to this end, according to a press statement issued by the party.
“RPP has decided to stay in the opposition. It won’t join the ruling alliance and will vote against the alliance,” the statement said. “RPP has also decided not to join provincial governments. If the need arises to support a provincial government, the Chairman will decide after consulting the provincial committee.”
RPP was a part of the UML-Maoist Center government formed after the November 2022 polls. However, the new ruling alliance has decided not to include RPP in the government this time.
