KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala has accused Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal of devaluing martyrs.
Speaking at a party program in Biratnagar on Tuesday, Koirala said Dahal has devalued martyrs who sacrificed their lives to bring and safeguard democracy in the country. “He is talking about adding another 3,000 martyrs. We shouldn’t devalue martyrs on the auspicious Martyrs Day,” Koirala said. “Increasing the number of martyrs haphazardly will be an insult to martyrs.”
Addressing a program in Kathmandu three days ago, Dahal, who is also the chairman of CPN (Maoist Center), said the government would declare an additional 3,000 martyrs very soon.
