KATHMANDU: Several senior leaders from various political parties, including Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, attended a tea reception organized by the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) on Friday.
The tea reception, hosted on the occasion of the 302nd birth anniversary of Prithvi Narayan Shah at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu, was the participation of Speaker Devraj Ghimire, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Nepali Congress President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN-UML Chairman and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, and Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane, among others.
In attendance at the tea reception were leaders and cadres of various political parties, former administrators, and security personnel, among others. RPP Chairperson Rajendra Lingden and other party leaders welcomed the distinguished guests.
On the occasion, PM Dahal offered a garland to the picture of the late king Prithvi Narayan Shah.
RPP has been organizing a tea reception on Poush 27 of the Nepali month every year, as per the lunar calendar. The day is marked as National Unity Day in commemoration of the contribution of the Late Shah to the unification of modern Nepal.
