KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, left for China on Monday leading a Nepali delegation to participate in the 3rd Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation.
Secretary at the home ministry, Dinesh Kumar Bhattarai, and other high-ranking government officials are the delegation.
China is hosting the 3rd Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in Beijing on Tuesday and Wednesday. The forum will focus on policies and progress of the high-level forum on green development. Deputy Prime Minister Shrestha is scheduled to address the event and attend a banquet hosted by Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Heads of State and government officials from various countries are reaching Beijing to participate in the conference. The conference is expected to see the participation of representatives from 130 countries and 30 international organizations.
The forum is expected to witness the signing of numerous agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) between participating countries and organizations.
